Julia is a heroine that you can’t help but cheer for – she has taken care of herself and her addict mom for so long that she doesn’t know how to live life for herself anymore. But the best surprise of this book for me was Julia’s character. This book took me right back to college and all of the shenanigans that go along with it. I absolutely love how this author writes NA romance – the setting, the frat-boy/athlete characters, the unknowingly beautiful wallflower book worms, and of course – the parties. I also really adored all the side characters: Eric’s roommates/teammates, and Julie’s friends, Poppy and Taylor. The buildup in romance and steam in Boyfriend Material was fantastic-and the storyline was heartstring tugging!
And Eric, was in fact, Boyfriend Material! He was caring, swoony, and swooped in to help Julie when he could. Julie was a heroine with the world on her shoulders-doing anything she could to work through a tough situation. Their story was sports romance with a mix of enemies to lovers and second chance. I’ve anxiously been waiting for more of the Hawthorne University series since 2019, and I’m excited that I really enjoyed Julie and Eric’s story. “I’ve got you,” he murmurs as his hand caresses down my spine. Boyfriend Material is a new adult college romance. This steamy romance is perfect for fans of enemies-to-lovers or second-chances. (It’s not even a spark it’s a full-fledged, blazing fire.)Ĭan this hockey player prove he’s boyfriend material, or will our past get in the way?
